t is likely because there are so many variations of blue and green that it would be difficult to choose which green looks best with which blue. Blues range from geenish to purplish hues, and greens vary from yellowish to bluish. add white to the mix and you've got a whole new range of colours.
l think with some education in colour theory you can learn how to break old rules and create harmonious combinations.

l once heard a quiltmaker say that any two colors go together. l tend to agree. As analogous colors, blue and green look perfect together. Just look at a piece of azurite/malachite. Beautiful.
Great link from the poster above me.

✍ Sometimes in the mist things get hazy, but out in the wild things can be crazy, ✑ of deep marines and and forest greens, a spruce of blue in camouflage, feel free to mix and explore new tricks, let yellows and oranges entourage ✐ obsessions and passions may blur and obscure blend and fold from palettes to cure, ✏ if green and blue work for you, theres little anyone else can say or do, ✒ ..

l do not pay much attention to stuff like that. ''they'' also say 'black is never found in nature.' an absurd statement that makes me want to ask what laboratory the cave painters used so many thousands of years ago to get the pigments they used on the walls.
Study color theory, study your own paints. Play with different palletes. Mix and match and blend.
Use your own judgement.

Who says blue and green should never be seen together? Nature has put blue and green together in many ways and many hues..

Most of the world is in-fact blue and green. Trees are green, the sky is blue. That statement must have came from the Desert People!
Maybe the statement comes from athiests, where the world must be bleached and stripped from all color.
Maybe it came from the study of Cat psychology. The common dimestic Cat should never see blue or green. They are known to be color blind. If so, rush them to a public hosbital! now! meow?
